Cafe Angelino (Los Angeles) – 2nd visit
The experience of my 1st visit to Cafe Angelino was wonderful, so I went back with my dear girl friends last night.
Last night they had the special “Cioppino” (Italian seafood soup). Since it’s not on the regular menu and I wasn’t sure if they would have it next time (they didn’t have it when we visited last time), plus I loooove seafood, I decided to get the Cioppino.
The cioppino came with two pieces of toasted bread. I remember a review I read on yelp said Angelino’s free bread sucks, but the bread comes with the meal is good. The review was right. The toasty crusty bread was tasty, perfect with the soup.
The cioppino itself was absolutely amazing. Calamari, clams, fish(not sure what kind of fish it was), shrimps, and veggie were fresh and perfectly cooked. The broth was sweet and full of all the seafood flavors. It’s soooo delicious!
I’m still in love with Cafe Angelino and will definitely find any excuses possible to come back again soon.

說甚麼我也要來試試囉
這家已經在那裏18年的小店, 據說是第一個跟Beverly Hills市政府申請並積極爭取outdoor seating 許可的餐廳, 從那之後, 附近有outdoor seating的餐廳一家家冒出來, 漸漸形成現在Canon Drive 上的Restaurant Row.
怪的是雖然yelp上的review每篇都大力推薦Chicken Special
她們Menu上並沒有一樣叫Chicken Special的東西呀?!
恩我想那大概是像In N Out 的 Animal Style一樣的行話吧(自以為)
難道他們是只願意把好吃的東西serve 給懂門路的客人嗎?(又自以為)
她們中午的Lunch Special- $9.99 有半份三明治+沙拉或湯
我豪氣(裝熟)的點了Chicken Special 半份跟水果沙拉
Chicken Special: Chicken panini 加了sundried tomatoes, avocado, pesto, 吃了之後我覺得她應該就是menu上的 “Grilled Breast of Chicken”. 一口咬下去, 我後悔了! 我應該點整份的三明治的!!! Chicken Special 果然美味, 名不虛傳!
Fruit Salad: 看得出來沒甚麼特別, 但份量很大很有誠意
Lunch Special: 划算的午餐只要$9.99
Il Tram 美味. 會呼喚人一再回去的 panini 還有她友善的服務跟平易近人的價位
都是在Beverly Hills 這一帶難得一見的
我一定要再回來吃一整份的 Chicken Special!

真的如她說的, 每次去到Angelino 都會覺得好吃到立志以後每個禮拜都來

這天和N 約吃午餐
選在離她office只有一個block的義大利小店Fritto Misto
(Fritto Misto 其實是一道義大利菜名:small pieces of meat, fish, or vegetables dipped in batter and deep-fried.)
N點的是當天的Lunch Special- Chicken & Spinach Lasagna with Pink Sauce with Garden Salad: 其實我們本來對千層麵都沒那麼愛, 但這lunch special 只要$8.5, 覺得不點實在是對不起自己! 沒想到她的lasagna 出乎意料的好吃, 完全跟印象中吃兩口就膩了的lasagna不同. 應該是因為她微辣的pink sauce 加上夾層只有雞肉跟菠菜而沒有容易膩的肉醬. N本來計畫不要吃太多要打包一半回家的, 沒想到太好吃了無法停止結果她只打包了沙拉回家…哈!
Pasta Puttanesca – Kalamata olives, capers, fresh roma tomatoes, anchovy, red pepper flakes on lemon pepper fettuccini in a cabernet butter
sauce (spicy) 其實光看ingredients 就覺得應該會好吃, 義大利麵炒橄欖番茄跟鯷魚跟預期中的一樣香味四溢! 口味偏鹹(這也是預期中的, 畢竟橄欖, capers, 跟鯷魚都是醃製品) 但還是好吃! 還好她口味重不至於讓我暴食, 打包了半份回家當晚餐! 
Fritto Misto 算是平價美味的義大利小店, lunch special 超划算, 其他的餐點價格也都算合理! 在Santa Monica 附近不想花大錢又不想吃food court 食物的話這是個好選擇喔!

這天到Santa Monica 的Bay Cities 外帶三明治當午餐
帶回家後本來想拍食物結果阿寶也好奇的跑來湊熱鬧
這家Yelp上有五百多個reviews, 平均4.5顆星的超人氣店
幾乎任何時候都大排長龍
不想排隊的話可以在他的網站上下訂單
他會告訴你大約等候時間, 然後算準時間再出門pick up 就好了
Bay Cities 除了Deli 之外其實是家義大利食品行
各種義大利料理的食材跟道具一應俱全
對做菜沒有研究的我進去只是眼花撩亂
還是拿了我的三明治就匆匆離開
我點了Yelp上很多人推薦的God Mother(Genoa Salami, Mortadella Coppacola, Ham, Prosciutto, Provolone)
他有辣味的選擇一向愛吃辣的我就當然選了辣味
但…我後悔了, 我有點錯的感覺
冷三明治加辣真得很怪, 嘴巴辣的都快燒起來的同時又有冰冷的三明治下肚
說不出的怪
(還好阿寶沒有真的吃下去…>_<）
我想他們評價這麼高應該不是沒有原因的
下禮拜要再來買一次午餐試試

這天衝浪比賽輸了很不爽硬是衝到天黑
出門找食物的時候已經快九點了
到Hermosa Pier 看到這家燈光美氣氛佳的義大利餐廳還開著就決定進來一試了
(飢餓的時候吃壽司絕對不是個好主意, 再加上這區的中國菜泰國菜基本上不太令人期待, 其實除了義大利麵之外好像也沒太多別的選擇了!)
Tricolori 沙拉 
Primavera: Spaghetti, mushrooms, eggplant, zucchini, carrots, calamata olives, marinara sauce
Di Aragosta: black and white lobster (black from squid ink) lobster ravioli in a saffron cream sauce
這裡的pasta 不算是最好吃的
但這裡氣氛好用餐感覺很舒服又不貴
我們六個人一人點一份主菜再點一份沙拉share
加上稅跟小費後一個人付$18 左右
再這一區算是經濟實惠的了

這家位在Venice Beach 旁但住址是在Marina Del Rey 市的義大利麵店
其實來過好幾次了也寫過簡單的介紹
但之前都是吃pasta
今天第一次吃他們的早午餐
今天點了一份蛋捲跟一份班尼迪克蛋
Garlic Roll: 他們這邊最讚的東西. 每次都會想下次乾脆只點湯或沙拉然後吃大蒜麵包吃到飽. 一般用餐的話這算是餐前麵包, 每次都是麵還沒來就撐了. 來吃早午餐的話如果點蛋類早餐會附培果, 瑪芬, 或土司麵包, 但如果是11:30am以後的話可以換成可以無限續的garlic roll. 大推薦
Trattoria Benedicto: 這個點的有點失敗. 荷蘭醬 Hollandaise Sauce 沒那麼好吃, 用的義大利式 prosciutto 又薄又鹹我也不愛. 算了他們也不是專業做這個的. 下次不會再點了就是了
Shrimp Frittata (註): 鮮美的蝦加上磨菇, sun-dried tomato 和大蒜, 混合的香味和口感讓這 frittata 相當美味. 營養好吃又不像美式蛋捲(Omelette)那麼油膩.
(註): Frittata 是一種義大利式的 omelette, 是open-faced 而不像一般的蛋捲是捲起來的
Buca di Beppo (Santa Monica)
My classmates in IOM599 class LOVE the professor and the class so much. So we went out for dinner and drink on Thur. (This is my only elective class that has such kind of get-together outside of class.) We chose Buca di Beppo and I really like it. It is a family style Italian restaurant. Their house special pizza was huge and tasted great!

Nice Italian restaurant in Venice Beach.
Their super delicious FREE garlic rolls and yummy pasta made me definitely want to go back.
