上次去Habana時在The Lab裡隨意亂晃
注意到這個輕鬆愜意的Cafe
大家喝茶聊天吃三明治
這天中午想找個地方看書簡單吃就跑來了
正如他網站上的訴求
“The Gypsy Den is a place for artists and bankers, vegetarians and meat eaters, punk rockers and therapy shoppers to sit down next to one another and enjoy local talent, great food, and good living.”
這邊真的甚麼樣的客人都有
西裝套裝高跟鞋的Sales來吃飯叩客人
粉紅頭髮跟鼻環的嬉皮來抽菸聊天
T恤牛仔褲跟Laptop的學生來唸書寫作業
在這兒, 可以自在的看書想待多久就待多久
不必擔心招來異樣眼光

記得四年前搬到這一區的時候問朋友附近有甚麼好吃
朋友第一個講的就是California Chicken Cafe
但人就是犯賤, 想說就在附近而且也不是甚麼大餐型的食物
所以一直都還沒去過
到現在要搬走了才趕緊拖著室友陪我去吃
Combo Wrap (chicken, guacamole, jack cheese, sprouts, Italian dressing, lettuce, tomato, and mayo)
好啦我承認在聽了朋友推薦跟看過Yelp上那麼多正面評價後
我看了他們網站上的menu還是心存懷疑
想說wrap 不過就是個wrap嘛? 能有多特別多好吃?
7-11 就有賣chicken wrap 了啊!
(我想這也是我一直拖到現在才去吃的原因吧)
我點的Combo Wrap 出乎意料的好吃
sprouts 讓這個wrap多了分新鮮健康的味道
好像有吃到pesto 味但他的成分上沒寫
成分看來普通但卻不知有啥秘密配方
吃來比一般超市速食店的wrap 美味許多
哎呀呀~ 真後悔沒有早點發現他啦!
很多reviews 提到CCC中午時間都很擠
建議打電話去訂然後pick up
不過剛好這禮拜UCLA 放春假
所以我們很幸運在門口就有parking進去點餐也完全不用排隊 ^_^
看CCC網站說他們目前不開放加盟
目前的幾家店都是直營店
希望他們也趕快到OC開分店

Tender Greens一直是Culver City downtown 午餐時間最忙碌的店
Sony Studios的員工跟附近其他上班族中午一到就蜂擁而入
(我記得他以前只賣到下午, 不過現在看他網站營業時間已經延長到晚上9點了)
一直在local(Culver City)很受歡迎的Tender Greens最近在West Hollywood開了家店
因此得到更多hipsters & bloggers的喜愛跟媒體的關注
Tender Greens顧名思義是以蔬菜.沙拉聞名
有各種當場新鮮現拌的沙拉
也有熱食加小份沙拉的組合(可選烤steak, chicken, albacore, 跟vegetables)
Herb Brushed Albacore Tuna (on a Sandwich) with baby spinach salad: 這天我點的albacore 三明治還不錯, 稍微小烤過的albacore甜嫩好吃. 但我還是覺得他的沙拉真的才是最棒的, 蔬菜鮮嫩香脆, dressing 跟搭配的ingredients 都恰到好處的好吃!

Tender Greens 並不是serve甚麼特別獨一無二的料理
但是食材很新鮮烹調的也很好吃
絕對是上班日午餐的最佳選擇
(雖然現在有營業到晚上但晚餐吃這還是怪怪的)
但我覺得如果不是住在附近的話
這沒特別到值得大老遠開車來吃就是了

Torafuku有很好的lunch menu, 好吃豬排, 跟有名的好吃白飯(Kamado Rice)
由於午餐太划算, 晚餐相對來說顯得昂貴
想想上次來這邊也已經是三四年前了
(當年的我還是草食性動物, menu上沒有一個東西吸引我)
這天跟室友一時興起約吃午餐
前一天就興奮的選好要去Torafuku並看好菜單決定好要點甚麼了
(不吃炸物的我做決定其實不難, 我是在考慮ginger pork 跟烤魚)
Mini Draft Beer: $1, 比iPhone還小的啤酒, 讓上班族午餐偷喝酒下午照常上班, 讚啦!

I actually had been there before. It was not out of my plan last time, so I didn’t attentively try to feel the ambience of this cafe.
This morning when I was researching the next brunch spot, it really drew my attention by users’ comments and its menu. Though after taking a look at their photos I realized this is the one I went before, I still decided to try it again!
I had Eggs Florentine w/ fruit salad today, and I really love it.
Eggs Florentine: Two Eggs Poached Served Atop Cooked Baby Spinach Leaves on a slice of Panini, Topped with Hollandaise Sauce. Served with Your Choice of Organic Mixed Greens or Fresh Fruit
The half-boiled yolk permeated into the panini and covered the spinach. Every bite made me feel satisfied….
(Ai…..I think I really have to learn more vocabulary to write a better food review.)
