不像家附近的Versailles (Venice店) 總是客滿, 
Manhattan Beach 的 Versailles 比較大也比較沒人.  
這天衝完浪準備好出門已經九點多了, 開車出門看到路邊的中國菜, 夏威夷菜, 和古巴菜, 最後就決定去Versailles 吃喬先生沒吃過的古巴菜

餐前奶油法國麵包: 沒有什麼奶油味的奶油麵包, 喬先生不信邪多要了奶油想再塗多點, 沒想到一整碗奶油送上來還是完全沒有奶油香.

Grilled King Fish: 我點的烤King Fish超大一塊, 我吃完一半就超撐的了. 其實我覺得他是先煎(或炸)過再烤的, 外面包有一層薄薄的麵皮, 用檸檬醬汁調味, 我很愛, 不過不愛吃酸的人可能就會不喜歡. 旁邊還有每道菜都有附的炸芭蕉.

整體來說還不錯啦, 但我們這天點菜走保守路線, 沒特別感覺到古巴菜的特色.  
菜單上其實有很多開胃菜和其他主菜都無法從菜名想像長什麼樣子, 這次我們都不敢點.  
好啦, 一餐下來還是不太知道到底古巴菜到底什麼好吃, 特色在哪裡… 囧

在Manhattan Beach Blvd 上這個新的plaza裡有幾家看來不賴的餐廳, 一直還沒機會試, 這天其實本來是停了車想要隨便去Noah’s 買bagel 快快解決早餐, 經過這個plaza 一時興起就走進了 Le Pain Quotidien.  回來才發現原來他是個橫跨美歐亞大洋四大洲的大連鎖餐廳


Organic Mint Lemonade: 超讚的薄荷檸檬, 而且好大一壺物超所值!

Pot of coffee: 一壺咖啡一個碗還有一小瓶牛奶

Board of fine cheeses & assorted organic bread: 還沒坐下來看到別桌客人在吃, 就翻遍menu 覺得非點不可的 cheese platter.  這一向是我的愛, 每次就算是去吃高級海鮮 buffet 我還是一定要先吃各種起士跟麵包.

Omelet: 這裡也有一般的omelet, 但做法上沒有一般美式餐廳來的油膩, 也很好吃

整體來說,  menu 上的食物都感覺很健康美味,  這次吃的麵包起士組合好好吃, 蛋捲也不賴, 下次一定還要再來試試別的!

Uncle Bill’s is my favorite brunch spot so far. 
Except for the 20 mins drive for me and the long wait, it’s an ideal place to enjoy a relaxing weekend brunch.

It’s ranked highly, but it doesn’t just attract people who read the review. Locals love it, too. It has been there forever. People just come back again and again. One of the reviews I read says: after I had the taste I could wait whatever it takes. I feel the same way.

I always take my out-of-town friends here, and that way I can show them the beautiful beach 2 blocks away. Put down my name, take a walk to the beach, and come back just in time for the table! 

Pros: – Wonderful service
         – Food: great waffle, delicious omelete, and of course their signature pancake

Cons:  Long wait.
