這天和N 約吃午餐
選在離她office只有一個block的義大利小店Fritto Misto
(Fritto Misto 其實是一道義大利菜名:small pieces of meat, fish, or vegetables dipped in batter and deep-fried.)

N點的是當天的Lunch Special- Chicken & Spinach Lasagna with Pink Sauce with Garden Salad: 其實我們本來對千層麵都沒那麼愛, 但這lunch special 只要$8.5, 覺得不點實在是對不起自己! 沒想到她的lasagna 出乎意料的好吃, 完全跟印象中吃兩口就膩了的lasagna不同. 應該是因為她微辣的pink sauce 加上夾層只有雞肉跟菠菜而沒有容易膩的肉醬.  N本來計畫不要吃太多要打包一半回家的, 沒想到太好吃了無法停止結果她只打包了沙拉回家…哈!

sauce (spicy)  其實光看ingredients 就覺得應該會好吃, 義大利麵炒橄欖番茄跟鯷魚跟預期中的一樣香味四溢! 口味偏鹹(這也是預期中的, 畢竟橄欖, capers, 跟鯷魚都是醃製品) 但還是好吃! 還好她口味重不至於讓我暴食, 打包了半份回家當晚餐!

Fritto Misto 算是平價美味的義大利小店, lunch special 超划算, 其他的餐點價格也都算合理! 在Santa Monica 附近不想花大錢又不想吃food court 食物的話這是個好選擇喔!

這天到Santa Monica 的Bay Cities 外帶三明治當午餐
帶回家後本來想拍食物結果阿寶也好奇的跑來湊熱鬧

這家Yelp上有五百多個reviews, 平均4.5顆星的超人氣店
幾乎任何時候都大排長龍
不想排隊的話可以在他的網站上下訂單
他會告訴你大約等候時間, 然後算準時間再出門pick up 就好了

Bay Cities 除了Deli 之外其實是家義大利食品行
各種義大利料理的食材跟道具一應俱全
對做菜沒有研究的我進去只是眼花撩亂
還是拿了我的三明治就匆匆離開

我點了Yelp上很多人推薦的God Mother(Genoa Salami, Mortadella Coppacola, Ham, Prosciutto, Provolone)
他有辣味的選擇一向愛吃辣的我就當然選了辣味
但…我後悔了, 我有點錯的感覺
冷三明治加辣真得很怪, 嘴巴辣的都快燒起來的同時又有冰冷的三明治下肚
說不出的怪
(還好阿寶沒有真的吃下去…>_<）

我想他們評價這麼高應該不是沒有原因的
下禮拜要再來買一次午餐試試

這天在Hermosa Beach 的Underground 看完和OSU的比賽後就趕緊回家吃早上和室友去Santa Monica Seafood 買的生蠔

(這天的宵夜是五隻生蠔…超奢華)

Santa Monica Seafood 是賣魚賣海鮮賣食材的地方

是West LA 買海鮮的好去處, 這邊海鮮比一般超市海鮮新鮮太多

這就是我們吃的生蠔 (一隻$0.99)

Snow還有專業開生蠔刀

阿~ 配檸檬超讚~

吃完宵夜
於是帶著滿肚生蠔心滿意足的睡去
好幸福

My classmates in IOM599 class LOVE the professor and the class so much. So we went out for dinner and drink on Thur. (This is my only elective class that has such kind of get-together outside of class.) We chose Buca di Beppo and I really like it. It is a family style Italian restaurant. Their house special pizza was huge and tasted great!

I really enjoyed the dinner… but maybe more because of the company! ^_^ More photos are here.

I got there around 11:30AM and was ready for a long wait. It turned out that the wait wasn’t as bad as it was said in all the reviews. However, I didn’t think the food was as good either. The omelette I had was a little blank and dry. Though I do like the cozy vibe there. Maybe I should have ordered somethin they’re well-known for.

It’s a cozy neighborhood cafe. It’s not like those cafes full with trendy-dressed people on the 3rd street. It’s a charming place where families enjoy their weekend breakfast/lunch.

Since it has been a while, I don’t exactly recall what the food taste like. But I do remember one thing, the dishes there are very "simple." Sandwich is only sandwich. Unlike sandwich in other places, it doesn’t come with anything else. The plate of sandwich I ordered didn’t make me feel I’m having a full meal while I had to pay as much as I did at any other place. (I know I could have just ordered more. Maybe I am just too cheap. )
